A new student organization is bringing fresh opportunities for students to get involved, collaborate ideas, and make connections on campus.
The Health Science Club was recently founded by students to support those interested in health sciences and to explore a wide range of healthcare pathways. President of the club, Kenley Kventon, says, “I want to bring together students who are interested in healthcare careers and create a space where we can learn from each other, share experiences, and explore different health-related pathways.”
In addition to fostering collaboration, the club aims to provide members access to resources, guest speakers, hands-on activities, and discussion that reflects real-world healthcare experiences. These opportunities are designed to help students build both professional skills and confidence as they prepare for future careers in the medical field. These skills will allow members to develop in ways that go beyond learning through textbooks or research alone. By engaging in conversation about real patient scenarios and gaining mentorship from upperclassmen, students will be able to apply classroom knowledge in a practical setting and become better prepared for their future careers.
Kventon adds, “I hope the club creates a strong, supportive community where students feel encouraged and prepared to pursue healthcare careers, while also spreading awareness about different health professions around campus. Club leaders also emphasize the importance of creating an inclusive environment where students from varying levels of experience can participate and learn from one another.
Additionally, the club organizers hope the organization will offer students a chance to get involved outside the classroom while developing valuable skills such as leadership, communication, and teamwork. By connecting students with similar interests, the club provides a pace to form meaningful friendships and build a sense of communityWhile the club’s kickoff event was held on March 18th, there is still plenty of time to get involved. The club is open to anyone with an interest in healthcare, a passion for advocacy, and a drive for learning.
