Closer Than Ever

This Spring semester WVWC Department of Theatre and Dance presents Closer Than Ever. A heartfelt musical revue that explores the joys, challenges and surprises of modern life and love.

With music by David Shire and lyrics by Richard Maltby Jr., this award winning show captures the humor, heartbreak, and hope that connect us all. Each song tells its own story weaving together moments of friendship, aging, ambition, and romance into a powerful tapestry of human experience.

Deathtrap

This Spring semester WVWC Department of Theatre and Dance will be bringing you Deathtrap! A masterful blend of suspense, wit, and dark comedy by playwright Ira Levin.

The story follows Sidney Bruhl, a once successful playwright desperate to reclaim his fame, who discovers a brilliant new script written by a student. What begins as a professional encounter quickly twists into a deadly game of ambition, deception, and murder.

With its sharp dialogue, clever plot turns, and theatrical surprises, Deathtrap keeps audiences guessing until the very end. Equal parts thriller and satire, this play proves that in the world of writing, and crime, nothing is what it seems.

Student Led One Acts

Encore is also going to have some fun one acts coming up in the spring semester as well. One is still to be determined and the other is a one act called Triffels

These one acts are being put on by Leigh Rice and Elijah Dickey, both are Theatre: Acting/Directing students at WVWC, They will be putting these shows on as they take their Directing 2 independent study in the spring.
