Radio Revamp: Upcoming Updates to WVWC C-92 FM

West Virginia Wesleyan College’s radio station, C-92 FM is in for some big changes and updates for the 2025-2026 academic year.

The radio station is preparing for a complete renovation after the fire and resulting water damage in the Benedum Campus Center destroyed much of the space. They are going to update the flooring, walls, and furniture and add some fun decorations.

Also, they are going to involve the student body in the makeover by allowing them to submit ideas and vote for a new name for the station to replace C-92 FM. The executive board of the radio station hopes that by increasing student involvement, there will be more engagement with the program and a wider listening audience.

Faith Yoho will be leading the executive board as General Manager, and next year will be her second year in the position. Elisha Taylor will be her Assistant Manager, and Chase Gora will be the Programming Director. The radio station course is advised by Dr. Bressler, although it is entirely student managed.

“Radio went pretty good this year. Last semester we got set back a little bit because of the fire and it shut down the station for a while. Since then, we’ve been dealing with finicky equipment, so we’ve gone offline a couple of times. It’s been a little rough, but we’re dealing with it,” Yoho said about the challenges the radio station has faced since the fire.

“We’re hopefully looking to make a lot of new improvements in the fall of 2025, so radio will not be offered next semester. Look out for a poll because we’re going to give the student body a chance to rename the radio station and do a lot of fun things with promotion and really hype up a comeback for spring 2026.We’re hoping to have a lot of people take to class then and have some record breaking numbers there,” Yoho said.

Despite all of the obstacles that radio has faced, it is evident that the station will be in excellent hands next year with the executive board. This is such a hands-on class where you can decide what songs you want to play or topics you want to discuss. If you are a student interested in taking radio, make sure to add it to your course schedule in the spring of 2026. Radio is labelled as COMM 139 or COMM 239 (if you have taken the course before) on Self Service.
