Beetlejuice is making a comeback! After decades of waiting, the eagerly awaited sequel to the 1988 hit Beetlejuice is making a comeback. Local coffee shop Stone Tower Brews encourages celebration with two new Beetlejuice-themed drinks.

In Beetlejuice 2, Michael Keaton revisits his role as the beloved “Beetlejuice,” as well as “Lydia Deetz” played by Winona Ryder. New cast members include Jenna Ortega and Justin Theroux. Beetlejuice enthusiasts are filled with anticipation as the movie brings new, vibrant aspects to a younger audience while maintaining the original film’s appeal that many grew up loving. Director Tim Burton captures the eccentric, dark comedy of the original film by combining CGI with real-world effects. For Beetlejuice lovers, it’s a must-see!

To celebrate this release, Stone Tower Brews has announced two new drinks- the “Netherworld Matcha” in reference to the eerie and strange afterlife where spirits go when they pass away and the “Banana Boat” which references the famous “Day-O” song that is performed at dinner. I have met with Alaska Allen, a barista at Stone Tower Brews to dive into the details of this release.

Firstly, the Netherworld Matcha is an ube and blackberry-flavored milk. Ube is an earthy syrup that consists of notes of cinnamon and fig. This flavored milk is topped with a vanilla matcha cold foam. This drink comes exclusively iced. This drink is recognized for its “upside down” look and unique flavor. Allen says that this drink is a popular seller, stating “This drink is like nothing we have had before and brings something fresh to the drink selection.” 

Secondly, the Banana Boat is a latte with caramel, banana, and toasted marshmallow. Additionally, this drink is topped with a rich dark chocolate cold foam and is served exclusively iced. If customers were previous fans of the “banana pancake” latte, this is a similar spin on an already loved drink.
