The West Virginia Wesleyan College Dance Team recently made waves in the world of collegiate dance, showcasing their talent and dedication at the prestigious NDA National Dance Competition held in Daytona, Florida earlier this month.

Last year, the WVWC Dance Team achieved the remarkable feat of clinching the title of national runner-up at the NDA competition, setting the bar high for themselves this year. Remmey Lohr, a junior dancer on the team, reflected on the pressure they faced, stating, “Coming off a successful season last year, the stakes were high and the competition continued to get tougher.”

Undeterred by the challenge, the team poured their hearts into their preparations, dedicating countless hours to perfecting their routines. Upon their arrival in Daytona, they wasted no time and immediately secured gym space to fine-tune their performances.

The WVWC Dance Team showcased their versatility and skill in two categories: Spirit Rally and Team Performance. Despite the heightened competition, the team’s hard work paid off as they secured impressive 4th and 5th place finishes in these fiercely contested divisions. These achievements serve as a testament to their unwavering commitment and perseverance throughout the year.

Reflecting on their experience, Lohr shared, “It was an awesome trip, and we can’t wait to go back next year to chase the championship ring!” Their determination and passion continue to drive them forward as they set their sights on even greater success in the future.

The WVWC community couldn’t be prouder of the Dance Team and their outstanding accomplishments. Their dedication not only brings honor to the college but also serves as an inspiration to aspiring dancers everywhere. As they return home with heads held high, the WVWC Dance Team remains a shining example of excellence and teamwork.
