Greek Week and Spring Sing are both highly anticipated events for Wesleyan’s Greek life community as well as the entire campus. 

Greek Week consists of approximately two weeks of sports and field events that showcase fraternities and sororities competing against each other for the title of Greek Week Champions. Greek Week traditionally ends with Spring Sing, a performance hosted by Bobcat Entertainment, which also crowns its own Spring Sing royalty as well as Spring Sing Champions. 

In order to promote fairness, each chapter elects one or two Greek Week chairs as well as one or two Spring Sing directors. These chairs/directors make decisions for both Greek Week and Spring Sing as well as prepare their chapters. “I think preparation is going very well, we’re working together to discuss strengths and weaknesses and what we’re all comfortable with doing. We are making sure we all feel supported,” says Lilly Almand, the Greek Week chair for Alpha Delta Pi. Almand says, “I see Greek Week as a time to foster an inclusive and supportive environment for everyone participating. I think it also helps to make new connections as you cheer on members of other chapters.”

Lilly is not alone in her beliefs, “it’s a safe environment where Greek Life can showcase their talents and work together to play new sports/events,” says Mak Yates, Greek Week chair for Alpha Xi Delta. 

Emilee Ellison, a member of Alpha Gamma Delta, says, “the benefits of Greek Week lie in giving your best with the support and love of your chapter behind you, knowing that win or lose they are proud of your effort. The sportsmanship og participating and competing with other chapters in a supportive way is also a huge perk!”

Spring Sing is also regarded highly among the Greek Life community. Senior Alpha Xi Delta member and AXID Spring Sing chair says, “I am most excited to perform the 2010s theme and see what everyone comes up with, as these songs are what we grew up listening to.”

Greek Week will run for Fraternities and Sororities from April 7th-April 20th 2024. Spring Sing will be held on April 20th, 2024 in the Chapel and is open to the campus and community. We would like to extend our well wishes of good luck to all the Greek chapters at West Virginia Wesleyan College.
