Bobcat Entertainment, more commonly known by Wesleyan students as BE, is the main outlet for on-campus fun, and they have a lot of exciting activities planned for the remainder of the semester. 

The latest upcoming event is Stuff-a-Buddy, which is a fan favorite at WVWC where students can pick out a stuffed animal and go through the process of creating it. This is a lively social event that always draws a crowd and lets students express some creativity. Stuff-a-Buddy will be held on February 16th. 

Trivia Tuesday is coming back this month on February 20th- bring your friends to make a team to vie for the prizes that are up for grabs! Also coming up is Free Movie Friday on February 23rd, an event where Bobcats can head to Upshur Cinema 6 to view the movie of their choosing that shows after 9 pm. The last scheduled event for February is Board Game Night on the 28th. 

Not only is BE hosting all of these events, but they will also be holding Big Bingo at the end of the semester in April. Big Bingo is the most well-known BE event, largely because the prizes that can be won include high-ticket items such as iPads and brand-new electric scooters. The turnout is always incredible for this West Virginia Wesleyan activity!

The members of BE have just as much fun creating and running the events as the students have to attend their activities. Peter D’Avanzo, a current BE member spoke about his own experience in the organization: “You get to meet and speak to new people every day, and it is a very social organization to get to be a part of.”

Next, D’Avanzo also gave insight into the creation process of the events, saying that “each member gets to plan and run their own event, making BE a very student-led organization on campus.” Members also show support for each other by showing up and helping at each others’ events while engaging with students attending the special campus activities. 

D’Avanzo’s favorite Bobcat Entertainment activity is the Spring Carnival, which is usually held on the last day of classes. Last year the event featured activities such as huge inflatables and photo booths, and snacks such as popcorn were also distributed at the event. Be on the lookout for the Spring Carnival this semester because there will potentially be a mechanical bull partaking in the festivities organized by BE!
