Boooockhannon is set to return to Buckhannon this October with fan-favorite activities and never seen before events.
The Colonial Arts Center, located on Main Street in Buckhannon West Virginia, brings you Boooockhannon! This city-wide event is returning to bring you lots of fun this season with spooky new events and activities. This event has activities for the whole family to enjoy and prepares the city of Buckhannon for the terrifying holiday.
I had the pleasure of interviewing Anne Wilson, Colonial Arts Center Manager, to tell us more about this exciting event and all that it has to offer the city of Buckhannon.
First, I asked Anne what exactly Boooockhannon is, for those who are not familiar with it. She stated, “Boooockhannon is a month-long calendar of community Halloween events. Some fundraisers, some are free, and the activities range from kid-friendly fun to an adults-only zombie crawl to local spots on Main Street.”
Next, I asked why Boooockhannon is important to the city of Buckhannon to which she replied, “I feel that having something in our community during this time of year is a fun and unique way for Buckhannon to continue to be a fun place to live. With the Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum 20 minutes away in Weston WV, Maniac Mountain, and so many other local spooky events that are already successful, I feel that Boooockhannon offers more exposure for those activities and brings tourists to our area to experience the spooky season.”
Finally, Ann shared some things she is personally looking forward to this year, that separate this year from years in the past. She replied “Something new coming this year is a collaboration with characters from Little Glass Slipper Character Entertainment. We will have the Salem Sisters at our 2nd annual 5k and a group of 5 villains during our open house tours of the Colonial Arts Center.”
Boooockhannon is an excellent way for the city of Buckhannon to become involved with its citizens this autumn and provide a fun event for people of all ages. A big thanks to Ann Wilson and the rest of the crew at the Colonial Arts Center for putting so much effort into Boooockhannon.
