West Virginia Wesleyan announced its 2023 Spring Sing event.

The West Virginia Wesleyan College excitedly announced they will host a 2023 Spring Sing in April. The Spring Sing is an annual showcase of performances by different organizations on campus. The event is a talent show where participants dance, sing, and dress up to the theme. This year’s event’s theme is Disney! All of this year’s performances will be Disney-related. Students voted for this theme in the fall semester. The Spring Sing will be hosted on April 15th in the Wesleyan Chapel.

After a two-year hiatus due to the coronavirus, the event returned last year. Since then, Spring Sing has had new management. Kenna Whitcomb, Assistant Director of the Office of Campus Life, is now in charge of Spring Sing. Kenna says that this is her first time directing the event and is excited to see all the great performances from the participants.

Greek organizations are the bulk of the performances but any campus-registered organization with ten or more members can perform in Spring Sing. Spring Sing has ten registered groups this year, which is more than ever. These student organizations will put on spectacular performances this year.

Bobcat Entertainment is a campus organization that hosts on-campus events including the Spring Sing, one of the biggest campus events of the year. Families, friends, campus staff, and the local community all come together and fill the Wesley Chapel for this wonderful event and performances you will never forget.

Most of the details of Spring Sing are kept under wraps in order to make the event a surprise. Bobcat Entertainment is still searching for campus Staff and faculty to judge the event and the fate of the winner is in their hands. Organizations have to design a banner that goes along with the theme of their performances. The banners, as well as the performances, are judged in order to crown a winner who holds the title for an entire year. In addition to banners, each year two students are picked for spring royalty by their peers. Interim President James Moore crowns the two winners who are chosen. Last year’s Spring Sing Was the 2000s hit music. Performances included Kidz Bop, Just Dance, and the top ten songs of the decade. Let’s hope that this year’s Spring Sing will be bigger and better than ever.
