West Virginia Wesleyan College (WVWC) is a private institution that sits in the heart of Buckhannon, West Virginia. WVWC, being a highly-ranked institution, is known for high-class learning and great professors.
With the small campus population of around 800 students making new connections with your peers is easy. Between Greek Life, athletics, and other school-based programs, there’s a lot to offer on such a small campus. A major benefit of having such a small student population is being able to build a personal relationships with your professors and meet new people. Because the classes are so small, this allows you to get the extra help you may need to pass your classes. Many students utilize meeting with their professors 1:1 when needing extra help, have questions, or need someone to chat with. WVWC’s small class size and campus size make this possible.

Another benefit of attending WVWC is the Buckhannon community. The community works well with the school. Certain stores like McDonald’s, Taco Bell, etc. give out a “Wesleyan discount” to students. This discount is approximately 10% for most fast food restaurants if you present a WVWC student ID. This is very beneficial as most college students have a strict budget when it comes to expenses. To add, Buckhannon is a small town and gives you a hometown feel. Many students feel at home and family oriented when they are on campus.
Another great benefit of attending WVWC is that it allows undergraduate students to choose between 50 different majors and programs. When you have a top nursing program and top criminal justice program it is kind of hard to compete with other schools.
At West Virginia Wesleyan College, you can earn your Masters in Business Administration in five years which is not seen at any other nearby institution. Our business administration program is not our only top program. We also have a top nursing program and a top criminal justice program. Many students from within the state and out of state hear about the WVWC’s top programs and have to see for themselves. There are many opportunities for students to be engaged with here.. Remember all the pros about West Virginia Wesleyan College… It’s a great day to be a bobcat!
