The Bobcats have tipped-off and are ready to get the new season underway. After a rough season last season, where the Bobcats were winless in the 2020 campaign, they are ready to hit the hardwood again.
The Men’s team kicked off their 2021 playing Pitt Johnstown on November 19th. The Men’s basketball team has started their campaign 1-2, losing to Pitts Johnstown and 19th ranked Indiana (PA). The Bobcats picked up their first win on the new season when they played Seton Hill and won 85-79.
Even though the Bobcats lost to the 18th ranked Indiana (PA), Wesleyan was able to battle the 18th ranked team in Division II. Wesleyan was able to get out to a hot start against Indiana shoot 4-5 from beyond the three-point line.
Wesleyan looks to rebuild and restart after a winless season in 2020. With lots of young guys getting playing time, this team looks to the future of these younger classmen. Wesleyan will look to improve this year and make a run for the MEC tournament. Right now, the Bobcats are 1-10 on the season, with an unfortunate 8 game losing streak right now. The Bobcats look to back on the right page during Christmas break. While most students are home visiting with friends and family, the basketball team will be playing 3 games during break. The first game over break was on Monday December 13th at Salem University, which they lost. The team has a couple weeks off to celebrate the holidays. But then they are right back to work on New Year’s Day taking on Salem again at home. They round off their schedule during break by playing University of Charleston, a conference game, on Wednesday January 5th 2021. The Bobcats look to right the ship heading into the break and look to grab some much needed wins.
