West Virginia Wesleyan College is hosting events, free of charge to students, to keep them engaged on campus.
Bobcat Entertainment is run by the students and for the students. The board plans events and giveaways for the students during the school year. Bobcat Entertainment has social media accounts on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook @wvwc_be. There are also frequently posted flyers in dorm halls and the cafeteria to keep students informed about the events taking place.
During the fall semester of 2021, Bobcat Entertainment has already hosted; free movie nights, Zul’s frozen lemonade truck, scavenger hunts, tie dying events, a talent show, free bowling, supermarket sweep, yoga, big bingo, free skating, and many other fun activities for students.
In the weeks leading up to Winter Break, Bobcat Entertainment hosted a cookie decorating event, Halloween movie nights in the HYMA auditorium, a ghost tour lead by the theater department, screen printing on t-shirts, a silent library game night, an ugly sweater contest, late night breakfast, and a final Big Bingo for the year of 2021.
To look forward to in the upcoming months, we can expect similar events to come. Events hosted by Bobcat Entertainment typically revolve around the current events. Nearing finals, a late-night breakfast should be anticipated, as well as another Big Bingo. During the warmer months the Zul’s frozen lemonade truck should reappear, as well as tie-dying and flowerpot paintings in the oval. During the time of Easter, there will be an Easter Egg hunt where prizes are given to students who find the eggs.
Bobcat Entertainment has always done a superb job of keeping students involved on campus, and they plan to continue to do so for the upcoming months. Bobcat Entertainment is open to listening to student’s ideas for upcoming events. Students can join the planning board. New members who are interested in public relations, graphic design, and budgeting are also accepted to the Bobcat Entertainment planning board.
